Where your ♥ lies, there shall your treasure be also…..‏

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!!!!! バレンタインダイ!!!!

So fun fact for you...here in Japan on Valentine's Day, girls give the boys things and a month later on White Day boys return the favor. Way different from America but it was cool to see. So in honor of Japanese Valentine's Day we made cookies for our elders, good stuff.

This week we had a special Sisters Conference and we all got together. It was such a sweet reunion to see Gazdik Shimai, Padelsky Shimai and my trainer Nakamura Shimai. The theme for the conference was, "Where your heart lies, there shall your treasure be also." In lieu of Valentine's weekend. Sister Wada talked a lot about how our heart needs to be centered in the gospel which is our greatest treasure. Sister Powell also gave a beautiful training on a kind heart and how when we change our desires to become more aligned with God's desires we are changing our hearts. She shared an experience of when she saw a woman in need and without saying anything her husband was already there assisting the woman. She later asked her husband how he knew he needed to help that woman and he said that he could feel what her heart was saying and therefore didn't need her to say anything. It made me think about how in tune I am with the Spirit and am I in tune enough to feel what God needs or has in store for the people in Tama? The whole conference I really felt the main message was changing our hearts and turning them to God so we can in turn change others hearts and turn them toward God. My heart was very full at the end of the conference.

This week we were able to work with the youth. We helped with a filming for youth and missionary work and had a great experience with Rei Chan. She was a bit nervous but we were able to talk to a ton of people and we met this sweet lady named Norma and gave her a Book of Mormon and found out she has been reading the Book of Mormon. It was such a sweet miracle, I'm so grateful for the faith of the youth. Yesterday we ding dong ditched some less actives homes with some of the youth and they made special care packages for them. I am so grateful for such a strong youth and their willingness to serve in any capacity. In my family my mom always taught us that love is an action word, you don't just express it through words but you show it by your actions. The youth in this Ward are so willing to demonstrate their love for others and especially God through their actions. As we went and gave service with the youth I could really feel the love they had for the other less active youth and also the love God has for all of us.

I am so grateful to be a missionary in the Japan Tokyo South Mission and to be able to share a special message of love with my Japanese brothers and sisters everyday. I honestly love my time as a missionary nothing has ever brought me so much peace and joy in my life than being here. I hope this week we can all do our best to try to soften our hearts and turn them toward God so he can mold them into what he knows we can become. Thank you all for your prayers and support!
